This year’s Safety Quest 2025 was special: it coincided with the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on November 16. The day reminded us why safety education matters — and why empowering children today builds a safer India tomorrow.
Even if you missed the live event, you can still experience the learning:
Kahoot Challenge – Safety Quest 2025
Share it widely — adults have found it just as engaging and eye-opening!
Caption Contest: Spotlight on Wrong Side Driving
Our pre-event Caption Contest focused on Wrong Side Driving, a dangerous and increasingly common behaviour on high-speed roads. (See the Reference clip )
We received 30 thoughtful and witty captions. Three special mentions were:
• “The bike and its riders are ‘going places’. Don’t be a rebel. Ride Safe.”
• “Rules are for others – Famous last words.”
• “Cut out the speed, not the helmet. Ride Safe, Ride Wise, Ride on the ‘Right’ Side.” – Atharv Faldessai
Winning Caption by Bhumika
Her caption captured the spirit of safe, responsible choices and received the top honour.

During the session, we emphasized a sharp reminder about wrong-side and high-speed crashes:
➡ When two vehicles travelling at 50 kmph collide head-on, the impact is equivalent to hitting a stationary wall at 100 kmph.
Participation: A Truly Pan-India Event
301 students joined us from across the country! We had enthusiastic participation from Bangalore, Mumbai, Mathura, Berhampur, Goa, Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Pune, Mangalore, Udupi, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Vizag, and many more.
The spread across grades 5-9 was as follows

The children’s spontaneous reactions on Zoom added tremendous energy to the quiz.
What Students Learned
We covered several topics on Road Safety, Fire Safety, Health, First Aid, Cyber Safety, Electrical Safety. Some new topics were introduced
• Sunroof safety: The growing misuse and risks associated with standing through sunroofs.
• India’s haemostatic wound-dressing innovation: A breakthrough medical dressing made from shellfish extract that stops bleeding rapidly.
• Science behind minimum driving age: Why teenage brains lack fully developed impulse control and risk perception.
• Anderson’s Piano: A 140-year-old railway safety mechanism — proof that simple engineering can outperform modern alternatives.
• The Shuffle Technique: A life-saving method to move away from live wires after storms without getting electrocuted.
• Responsible behaviour around drunk driving: Beyond “Don’t drink and drive,” we encouraged children to influence adults by promoting designated drivers.
What Students Knew Well
Many students answered correctly on:
• Seatbelt importance
• Sunroof risks
• Retro-reflective paints
• Distracted driving due to mobile phones
Knowledge Gaps
Surprisingly, most struggled with:
• First Aid
• Cyber Safety
• Helmet health and lifespan
(And truthfully, many adults would too!)

Our favourite part of the event is always hearing from the children:
“I learned first aid, cyber safety & road safety.”
“Now I know what to do during storms & injuries.”
“Learnt a lot”
“Good quiz for Knowledge and Awareness”
“Learnt Safety tips and techniques”
Their openness to learning makes every one of them a winner.
